FUNDRAISERS

LOCAL YOUTH SPORTS FUNDRAISER

Football is bigger than touchdowns and championships. It's bigger than pom poms and competitions. It's a community, a family, a brother(and sister)hood. Sports are a great unifier in our community. It brings kids together who otherwise may not be buddies and makes them close knit friends. This football team is no exception. We are entering year 2 of this program and look forward to seeing these kids grow.

In our first season, we started with 16 football boys and 16 cheer girls. We are months away from opening kickoff and have already capped our roster out to 23 boys with 10 of our cheer girls lined up and we anticipate many more signing up in the next couple of months.

We feel we are building something special with this program. Yes, we are teaching them how to pass and catch, how to tackle and juke, how to backflip and stunt. But we are also raising up the next generation of leaders in this community. Training them to lift each other up when they fall, protect their peers, cover others' weaknesses, that there is strength in numbers, to celebrate achievement, respect for themselves and others, and that failure can be a great teacher. There is a .024% chance these kids will become professional athletes. There is a 100% chance they will become adults. As the head coach of this program, I want to prepare these kids for the inevitable while allowing them to chase the dream of playing in high school, college and even the pros. That's why I coach. Sports is just the vehicle to get there.

Now, all that being said, everyone in this program is a volunteer. Running a successful program takes committed adults to show up at every practice and game to make this happen and sustain. It also takes money. This is where we humbly ask you to help us out. We have a number expenses that are required as well as expenses on resources that allow the kids to practice more efficiently, proudly represent their team, and play safely. YAFL requires each team to pay upwards of $850 to the league, which goes towards paying game field maintenance fees, pay referees, cheer competition facility usage, as well as operating costs. We like to give the kids swag to represent their team and feel seen as a part of something. We have practice equipment purchases we'd like to invest in for the boys to adequately train with during the week.

We know our ask is big. But the return on this investment has the chance to be far bigger. Any sacrifice you'd be willing to make to help our boys and girls have a successful season would be greatly appreciated. But consider the sacrifices others have made for you. Many of us are where we are today because of the sacrifice of someone else. A parent, a coach, a teacher... Please consider being a blessing to these kids.

Thank you so much for your consideration.
